A huge part of cattle ranching is handling livestock and moving those cows around. At Cross K Cattle, we have a wonderful crew of working collies always ready to help!
My name is Megan Kinney. As a kid, I grew up raising and showing AKC Registered Boxers under my parent's kennel, down in the wheat country of Harrington, WA. My husband Boyd and I own and operate an All Natural Angus Cattle Ranch that was located in the High Country Mountains of Tonasket, WA. Now, we have relocated to the beautiful area of Bethel Acres, OK!

These Border Collies are hand picked for their working skills AND personality. You will love their "off switch" when the work is done and you head inside to rest! You can count on their ability to go strong all day or sit and wait to be called on. Our family is always on the go around The Ranch, and when it's time to do some relaxing, these guys know how to be lazy!

You will also find some unique color at Cross K Working Collies! Lucy is a beautiful example of an uncommon Flashy Blue Merle Tweed. When paired with Ricky and his base coat red pigmentation, the litter has some gorgeous color variety!

Sophie is Ben's sister and lives with my 83 year old Father-in-law. She is a sweet and gentle companion dog, highly intelligent and quick to help with cows. She's fast and a quick decision maker.

Feed your Wauconda Ranch Working Collie what they grew up on! Your puppy will be sent home with a Purina Puppy Chow Kit, and we encourage you to keep them on the same brand. We feed our adult dogs the Green bag of Purina Dog Chow Complete Adult with Real Chicken. I also highly recommend Purina PRO PLAN Shredded Chicken and Rice. You aren't feeding your dog what their body needs if you see anything less than a healthy appetite and a sleek, shiny coat.

At Cross K Working Collies, we typically have 1-2 litters a year depending on client needs and Ranch happenings. If you are interested in becoming a member of the Cross K Working Collie family, then we suggest you follow our Facebook page for updates or inquire. There are up in coming changes to the adult dogs in the kennel, including our newest addition Eva who is a prospect for breeding female. We DNA test our dogs, and are thoroughly checking and researching options for studs as well.
At the Ranch, we have different qualifications for our litters, depending on the pairing of adult dogs. All ABCA Registered litters that are available will be sold under Limited Registration- unless special circumstances are met. With limited registration, they cannot be used as breeding stock. If dogs are bred out of contract, the puppies are disqualified from being registered with the ABCA.
All limited registrations from our kennel require the dog to be spayed or neutered when
they have matured to the appropriate age. Some "No Fix" contracts can be agreed upon at an additional fee. I certainly believe in working males that are more capable when in-tact.
With exceptional litters, an ABCA Registered dog intended for breeding purposes may be available. These puppies will be sold under special Full Registration contracts and will be priced accordingly.

Ricky + Lucy is a pair that we really enjoy. Every pup is a "keeper" and we always benefit from a wide variety in color and personality. With these two as the parents, you can always count on a puppy with intelligence and kindness. This pairing produces our namesake: fast, quiet collies with an off switch. They are light on their feet and only bark when they need to- I expect no less from them. These dogs like to work, and love to be in with the family too.
Do you ever see a Border Collie lay quiet under the kitchen table and sleep all day? Well, these can- but they're also dang useful with one whistle!

If you have questions on specific puppies, or on the process, a quick way to reach me is to chat. We are a working cattle ranch, so we may not be available immediately- But please contact us for more photos and videos. Our Facebook Page likely has updated photos. Our pups change daily in color and personality! We have four children ages 7-14 that handle them daily so they are well socialized with ample opportunity for us to give you a very insightful opinion of each dog's personality. There is a chat link just below that will take you to our Facebook Page for easy and fastest communications.

Your Application will be sent to us for review immediately after it is submitted. If we receive multiple applications for the same puppy, you will be wait-listed and notified in the order received. Applicants MUST BE APPROVED before submitting a deposit!
Each approved applicant will have 24 hours to send the Non-Refundable $200 deposit to secure the puppy before option moves to the next applicant. See payment options in the next section.

Delivery and Pickup Options

Pickup
Clients may pick up their new family members after their 8 week date. Absolutely NO early pickups! There are many reasons why a puppy should stay with their litter mates until this stage in their life (or longer), and it all ends with a result that will give you a better dog in the long run.

We operate a working cattle ranch, so please keep that in mind when you are scheduling!
In general, we are located somewhere on the ranch 24 hours a day, 7 days a week. During winter hours, we are typically feeding cattle for approximately 4 hours a day every morning.
